16. . 4-1. . Buffalo Bills. 2. team

NFL Power Ranking No.2 Buffalo Bills (4-1)

What are they? Dangerous

Josh Allen’s performances under center make the Bills a difficult team to face. Competition motivates Buffalo’s quarterback to show improvement – helping his team win games. An electrifying opening week put the league on notice. Allen found the endzone four times – including a touchdown leap over Los Angeles linebacker Bobby Wagner. Contributions from Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs lead the receiving core– providing more opportunities for Allen downfield.

Defensively, Buffalo is hard to beat. Their 249.2 yards allowed per game average ranks second behind San Francisco – an impressive start for Leslie Frazier’s squad. Von Miller continues to add pressure on opposing quarterbacks, while Jordan Poyer scans for interceptions. No.21’s four interceptions rank first among defensive backs and will continue to increase as the season progresses.

54. . 5-0. . Philadelphia Eagles. 1. team

NFL Power Ranking No.1 Philadelphia Eagles (5-0)

What are they? On Fire

Playing in Philadelphia is difficult for athletes that weren’t born with thick skin. Tough love from fanatics causes players to rise to the occasion – providing a spark for the team and the city. Jalen Hurts’ response to his critiques this season caught many by surprise.

His performances on the field are stellar and have led the birds to an undefeated start. Hurts has accumulated 1,625 total yards and ten touchdowns in the new campaign. His resilience is contagious, and his teammates have bought in.

The defense helps Hurts keep the Eagles soaring. Jonathan Gannon’s squad has shown significant improvements from a year ago. After five weeks of football, Philadelphia ranks fourth in yards allowed per game (294.4) and first in total takeaways (11). Wins against the Vikings and Cardinals were convincing, making the Eagles the team to beat.

There are more games to play this season, which allows other franchises to step up their play. A competitive slate of games each week will keep fans engaged as the regular season continues.
