The NFL trade deadline is coming up on November 1, and there are plenty of teams and players that could be active. At least, there might be some interesting rumors of trades that don’t materialize but are still fun to talk about. One player whose name has been coming up lately as teams around the league look for or need receiver help is Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. As the Broncos continue to struggle this season, could Jeudy be on the block?

To make a long story short, it’s very possible. Despite the fact that the Broncos lost Tim Patrick in training camp to a torn ACL, Jeudy has not been able to effectively establish himself as a clear WR2 in this Russell Wilson offense. The Broncos certainly have bigger issues at hand than Jerry Jeudy, but the former first-round pick out of Alabama has been much more potential than production so far in his NFL career.

And that’s not all his fault, either. The Broncos are also at fault for Jerry Jeudy’s involvement — or lack thereof at times — in the offense. He’s had his share of drops through two-plus seasons, but he’s also had his share of getting open and not being seen by the quarterback or simply not getting the ball thrown to him on target. One way or another, Jeudy has expressed his frustrations plenty, and a change of scenery could be best for both parties if the Broncos can get good value.

Currently, general manager George Paton doesn’t have picks in the first or second round. He’s not getting a first-round pick for Jeudy but he might be able to get someone to give him a second-rounder since Jeudy has three more years of team control on his contract and he has shown his tremendous potential plenty. Which teams might be willing to do that kind of a deal?

1. New York Giants

The New York Giants might be a longshot type of trade destination for Jerry Jeudy, but they are struggling at the wide receiver position and obviously looking to compete now with a 5-1 record through six weeks this season. The Giants have gotten contributions from guys like Darius Slayton and Wan’Dale Robinson, but Richie James and Sterling Shepard are this team’s leaders at receiver in targets.

Kenny Golladay has been a complete bust for New York. The Giants seem to be ready to move on from Kadarius Toney at a moment’s notice. It might be a far-fetched kind of idea, but perhaps the Broncos and Giants both could benefit from a deal here that includes players going both ways. The Giants give Jeudy a change of scenery, and the Broncos give someone like Golladay or Toney a change of scenery.

The Broncos would probably just prefer straight-up draft compensation, but a factor that needs to be considered here is Russell Wilson and how depleted the Broncos want to make his arsenal of weapons. Jeudy is certainly a weapon, even if the Broncos are seemingly bringing a knife to a gunfight every week out there as a whole offensively.
