NFL Week 7 Game #2: New York Jets (4-2) @ Denver Broncos (2-4)

Sunday @ 4:05pm CBS
Prediction: Jets 24 – 13 Broncos

Three consecutive wins have Robert Saleh feeling confident midway through the regular season. Wins over the Steelers, Dolphins, and Packers were impressive – causing the Jets to make appearances in the top tier of power rankings. Defensively, the Jets have one of the best units. Jeff Ulbrich’s squad ranks ninth in average yards allowed per game (313.2) and seventh in takeaways (10). Cornerback Sauce Gardner continues to lock down opposing receivers. He’s allowed a 19.5 passer rating in single coverage this season – the lowest among all defenders younger than 25 this season.

Facing a stout defense should cause Russell Wilson to bring his best this Sunday. No.3’s struggles behind center have cost the Broncos victories late in games. Wilson ranks seventh in interceptions (3) and 23rd in passing touchdowns (5). Justin Outten’s offense is ranked 22nd in yards per game and will need their playmakers to step up in big moments this week.

Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy are reliable targets – combining for 721 receiving yards in five games. Latavius Murray and Melvin Gordon must prepare to have a productive night as well. If Wilson continues to struggle, Denver’s rushing attack will have to buy the offense more time.
