Pick Analysis. WR. Ohio State. Jaxon Smith-Njigba. player. Scouting Report. 16. 49

16. Green Bay Packers: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State

With Davante Adams now in Las Vegas, it’s easy to see how much he meant to the Green Bay Packers. Allen Lazard, Christian Watson, Randall Cobb, and Romeo Doubs haven’t done nearly enough to strike fear into defenses and the result is one of the worst starts in recent memory for Green Bay.

Perhaps that will finally be enough to convince them to use a Round 1 pick on a wideout, which is what they do here by adding Jaxon Smith-Njigba from Ohio State.

He’s a precise route-runner that catches contested passes — and is a great fit for this Green Bay offense. Smith-Njigba outgained Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson when all three were on the field and that’s no easy task.

Pick Analysis. WR. 17. 47. Scouting Report. USC. Jordan Addison. player

17. New England Patriots: Jordan Addison, WR, USC

Bailey Zappe could and Mac Jones could have quite the battle on their hands to become the future starter for the New England Patriots. Whoever winds up earning the spot will need some help though since the receiving corps is still suspect in New England.

That’s why they add USC’s Jordan Addison. A transfer from Pitt, Addison has 585 yards and seven touchdowns in seven games for the Trojans. He’s done enough to secure his spot in Round 1 and the Pats just have to hope he can finally be the guy to break their cycle of whiffing on wideouts early in the draft.
