Russell Wilson isn’t “riding” anything but heartache in Denver but Seattle is impressing the NFL.

The Denver Broncos were supposed to be the biggest surprise in the NFL. Wilson’s trade from Seattle to Denver was the big off-season topic and Wilson instantly made the Broncos a contender for not only the AFC West but as a legit challenger to the Bills and Chiefs for the Super Bowl.

That hasn’t worked out quite the way everyone predicted. Wilson looks mediocre at best and the Broncos began trying to gut their roster at the trade deadline. Denver finds themselves one game out of the AFC West basement at 3-5 while the Seahawks, who were predicted to be one of the worst teams in the NFL with Wilson gone, lead the NFC West by one game over the 49ers at 5-3.

Who got the better deal? For now, Seattle without question. Not only did Seattle receive Shelby Harris, Drew Lock, and Noah Fant, but they also received two 1st round picks, 2 second-round picks, and a 5th round pick. They sent a 4th round pick to the Broncos.

Overall, the Seahawks have the better record, are playing good football, and the Broncos are wondering how messed up their franchise is going to be if Wilson can’t turn it around. Luckily for most fans of the Broncos, much of the problems could lie with first-time HC Nathaniel Hackett who will probably be gone after this year.

A new head coach could make it easier for the Broncos’ new QB but he still has to perform and so far, that isn’t happening.
