NFL Disappointments: 2. Rams can’t overcome the Super Bowl hangover

Bleep those picks. NFL fans know the comedic mantra associated with the Los Angeles Rams. General Manager Les Snead went all in by sacrificing his long-term future for a Super Bowl — it worked. The Rams won their title, and they look like a shell of themselves.

Sean McVay was known as the boy genius because of his high-octane creative offensive scheme. In 2022, the Super Bowl head coach appears to have lost some of his juice — it shows in the Rams’ 3-5 start. Their worst game came against Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They couldn’t get anything going, and it left McVay looking sick in the face.

Their primary weapon is Cooper Kupp, and Stafford doesn’t shy away from tossing him the rock, at all. It’s like he’s the only weapon on the offense. Meanwhile, the defense has a lot of mouth but little production. Aaron Donald is still the man.

However, without Von Miller, the defense looks average. The most important position on the field is quarterback. The guy they traded the house for, Matthew Stafford, looks like he was one and done for the Rams. The NFC West isn’t as tough as it once was, but the Rams still don’t have a shot. At least they can hang their helmets on last year.
