2023 NFL Mock Draft: Cowboys add more defense, Seahawks grab QB
By Randy Gurzi
The Dallas Cowboys improve their defense even more and the Seattle Seahawks get a developmental quarterback in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft
It’s Championship weekend as NCAA teams are facing off for their conference titles. With the season coming to an end, and bowl games around the corner, many players will be turning their attention to the NFL Draft.
We’ve already been doing that as we’ve offered up more than one 2023 NFL Mock Draft up to this point. Once again, we’re back to the drawing board and this time the Seattle Seahawks grab a developmental quarterback while the Dallas Cowboys look to round out their secondary.
As always, until the picks are locked in, the order of our mock will follow the latest NFL Power Ranking on Spin Zone. With that being the case, the Houston Texans are on the clock at No. 1 overall.
2023 NFL Mock Draft
1. Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State
Ohio State fans are pretty spoiled.
Their team is so good that a loss to an undefeated Michigan team seems to have been enough to get them to turn on their coach. Ryan Day has had a ton of success and is 45-5 since taking over in 2019, but this latest loss really upset the fans.
Before long, they’ll be over it and cheering on their club once again. However, it will be a new quarterback as C.J. Stroud is ready to enter the NFL and he’s taken first overall by the Texans in this mock.
Houston has needs all over the field but they’re not going to do anything without an upgrade under center, and Stroud offers that. They also have another first-round pick in this draft and two in 2024 thanks to the Deshaun Watson trade, so they can build around him.
