Scouting Report. 2. player. 36. Pick Analysis. DT. Georgia. Jalen Carter

2. Seattle Seahawks (via Denver Broncos): Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia

Geno Smith has done a good job under center, so the Seattle Seahawks don’t feel the pressure to go after a big-name quarterback. That frees them up to go with the top player on their board and in this mock, that winds up being Jalen Carter.

A 6-3, 310-pound defensive tackle, Carter can play all over the line as pointed out by Damian Parson

"“Jalen Carter checks the physical and athletic boxes. Carter’s first step stresses interior offensive linemen’s reactive quickness. He has strong short-area quickness and burst to close on the ball carrier. He is an alignment-fluid defender—Georgia plays him in multiple spots: 1-tech, 2i, 3-tech, and 5-tech.” – Parson, The Draft Network"

Pete Carroll has always liked to use defenders that offer versatility which is why Carter winds up in the pacific northwest.

Alabama. Bryce Young. 50. Pick Analysis. QB. 3. player. Scouting Report

3. Detroit Lions (via Los Angeles Rams): Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

The Los Angeles Rams have been a mess all season and that’s going to wind up benefiting the Detroit Lions in a major way. Detroit has the Rams’ first pick in this upcoming draft and they use that to bring in Bryce Young from Alabama.

Jared Goff has been fine for the Lions but they could stand to upgrade the most important position on the roster. They do that with Young, who some grade higher than Stroud.
