2023 NFL Mock Draft: Cowboys add more defense, Seahawks grab QB

6. Pittsburgh Steelers: Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern
Some old-school football runs through the blood of Northwestern offensive tackle Peter Skoronski. He’s the grandson of Bob Skoronski who won five NFL Championships as an offensive tackle with the Green Bay Packers. Not only did the elder Skoronski play for Vince Lombardi, but he was also a captain and was part of the first two Super Bowls ever played.
As for Peter, he was a highly sought-after prospect that chose the Wildcats over several other big-name programs. He’s versatile enough to move all over the line but the Pittsburgh Steelers need him to stay where he’s at and protect the blindside for Kenny Pickett.
They need to figure out if Pickett is the answer and the best way to do that is to build the line in front of him and give him the time he needs in the pocket.
7. Chicago Bears: Will Anderson, EDGE, Alabama
The Chicago Bears have a lot of holes on their team and they really need to do whatever they can to help Justin Fields blossom. But they showed last year that they’re not terribly concerned with that as they went defense early and often.
That could be the same approach in 2023 especially after they traded Khalil Mack, Robert Smith, and Roquan Smith all in the same year. Throw in the fact that Will Anderson, Jr. is still on the board and it will be hard for them to resist.
