2023 NFL Mock Draft: Cowboys add more defense, Seahawks grab QB

8. Arizona Cardinals: Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Kliff Kingsbury let go in the offseason since he’s been taking the Arizona Cardinals in the wrong direction. General manager Steve Keim could also be on the way out since he’s failed to build any semblance of a defense.
Whoever is in charge should focus heavily on that side of the ball in the 2023 offseason and with their first pick in this mock, they add Myles Murphy from Clemson. At 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, he’s built to hold up on any defensive front. He’s also developed into a great all-around defensive end.
With J.J. Watt and Markus Golden on the wrong side of 30, it makes sense to get some youth in the front seven for Arizona.
9. Philadelphia Eagles (via New Orleans Saints): Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon
The New Orleans Saints really made an odd trade last season as they gave up a future first-round pick in order to move up — despite not knowing who would be on the clock. They then moved up once again in order to land Chris Olave but the pick they sent to the Philadelphia Eagles could end up being a premium selection.
Here, it’s No. 9 overall and the Eagles use that pick to bring in Christian Gonzalez. A Colorado transfer, Gonzalez has made huge strides this season at Oregon. He has the makings of a shutdown corner and improved his ball skills this season. Pairing him with Darius Slay would give Philly a strong duo while also allowing Gonzalez to work alongside a veteran mentor.
