2023 NFL Mock Draft: Cowboys add more defense, Seahawks grab QB
By Randy Gurzi
10. Houston Texans (via Cleveland Browns): Jordan Addison, WR, USC
Jordan Addison had one really good season and one monstrous one for Pitt. Then, he headed west to play for USC this past season and put together another strong campaign.
He’s shown enough over the past three seasons to be one of the top wide receivers on most draft boards and gets selected here as the final pick in the top 10. He’s also the second selection for the Houston Texans, who are on the clock courtesy of the Cleveland Browns.
They already added C.J. Stroud with the first pick in this mock and now bringing in Addison gives them a potentially explosive quarterback-to-wide receiver combination.
11. Green Bay Packers: Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame
Someone such as Jordan Addison would have been an ideal fit with the Green Bay Packers but with him off the board, they decide to go after Michael Mayer from Notre Dame. While they have Robert Tonyan, they did show a desire to upgrade this year as they went after Darren Waller twice.
Mayer isn’t an incredible athlete but he’s an in-line tight end who excels at catching the ball in traffic. He’s also a technical route-runner that will offer a safety valve for Aaron Rodgers — or Jordan Love if there winds up being a major shake-up in Green Bay following this disappointing campaign.
