8. Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons went a bit retro with their new helmets. They decided to go back to the days of the red helmet and used the throwback logo as well. They did modernize it a bit and then paired it with their 1990s uniforms — which they never should have gotten away from.

Speaking of their uniforms, maybe we should bump this alternate up higher simply because it’s one less option other than the horrific gradient one they recently created.

7. New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints have had a black helmet in the past, so they didn’t follow the leader when it comes to using that as their new alternate. They did, however, switch their up some as they put a  wide stripe of fleurs-de-lis right down the middle.

The look is unique and very smooth. They also debuted this with an all-white jersey and pants combo which really worked.

6. Arizona Cardinals

While the Eagles’ darg green doesn’t really pop on their black alternates, the Arizona Cardinals‘ logo does. The dark red and bright yellow look great against the dark black. It was also a good call to use white pants to keep it from being overwhelming.

Arizona is one of the teams that really need to consider switching up their look because their standard red and white jerseys aren’t exactly pleasing to the eye. But this is, and would make a nice full-time replacement.
