Indianapolis Colts (4-8-1) at Minnesota Vikings (10-3)

It’s hard to play better than Kirk Cousins did this past weekend and still lose in today’s NFL. Unfortunately for the Minnesota Vikings, it appears as though the Detroit Lions are a team of destiny, and there was nothing they could do but get in the way this past week.

How good was Cousins against Detroit?

  • 75.6 completion rate
  • 124.5 QB rating (season-high)
  • 425 yards (season-high)
  • 2 TD, 0 INT
  • 10.37 yards per attempt (season-high)

Again, it’s tough to play that well and lose a game in today’s NFL, but the Lions are just playing that great on offense right now.

The Vikings should be considered heavy favorites this week going up against Jeff Saturday’s Indianapolis Colts. They get to play at home again, and the Colts aren’t exactly hopeless but this is a team that Minnesota should be able to outscore relatively easily. The Colts are averaging 16.1 points per game this year and despite a rather odd signature win (the Colts beat the Chiefs, remember) I don’t think the Vikings have much to worry about going into this one.

Kirk Cousins and the Vikings passing attack have been a bit erratic in the second half of the season at least in terms of Cousins’ efficiency out there but coming off of a game like we saw against Detroit, how could we expect anything but a Vikings win, especially playing in front of the home fans?
