Chicago Bears open as huge underdogs vs Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15
Can Bears use their strength to their advantage?
If there is one area in which the Eagles can be exploited is the running game. The Eagles rank only 18th in the league in rushing yards allowed. The Bears, on the other hand, lead the league in rushing.
Yes, they are missing Khalil Herbert as part of their three-headed monster running attack, but the duo of Fields and David Montgomery have still done a pretty good job.
Those two need to have a big game for the Chicago Bears to have any chance of keeping close to the Eagles.
Fields is having a historic season with his running. Currently, he ranks eighth in the league in rushing with 905 yards despite missing a game. He could break the all-time record for most rushing yards by a Chicago Bears quarterback of 968 yards set by Bobby Douglass. Additionally, he has his sights set on the NFL record of 1,206 yards, set by Lamar Jackson in 2019.
Montgomery has plenty to play for as well. He becomes a free agent at the end of the season and it isn’t a given that Poles brings him back despite doing everything the team has ever asked of him.
Let’s see if the Chicago Bears exploit their rushing advantage and make it somewhat of a game.
