Chicago Bears open as huge underdogs vs Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15
Great matchup between two young star quarterbacks
While this game could end up being an ugly blowout, the matchup between two of the most athletic and young quarterbacks in the league is something that will attract a lot of people.
Hurts is having a terrific season. He ranks 10th in the league in passing yards with 3,157 yards, tied for fifth in passing touchdowns with 22, third in interceptions thrown, and fourth in completion percentage at 68 percent. He also has 686 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
One good thing for the Bears is that they have reinforcements for the secondary. Cornerback Kyler Gordon and safety Jaquan Brisker are off concussion protocol and are ready to go this Sunday. Both players missed two games due to concussions so having them back is a boost.
While Fields doesn’t have the passing stats that Hurts does, he is definitely improving. In his last five games, he completed 68.4 percent of his passes for 848 yards and 8 touchdowns. He added 541 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground.
Of course, Hurts has more weapons around him than Fields does. Fields is in the position that Hurts was in last season — people questioning his abilities. It is amazing how much better a quarterback is when he has talent surrounding him. Tua Tagovailoa is another example of turning things around quickly.
It should be great to see both Hurts and Fields do their thing and make the defenses look silly at times. These players are the future of the NFL and perhaps could develop a nice rivalry.
Fields and the Chicago Bears could look at the Philadelphia Eagles and have hope for a quick turnaround. Having the most salary cap space available (by a large margin) and having a number of draft picks gives Poles the opportunity to field a much better team next season. We just have to finish off the last four games of this season.
