Deion Jones

At one time, Deion Jones looked to be one of the best linebackers in the NFL and it was one of the reasons the Atlanta Falcons signed Jones to a four-year, $57 million contract in 2019. However, the Falcons are a team that is rebuilding and they would trade Deion Jones to the Cleveland Browns during the season.

The former Pro Bowl linebacker though hasn’t made the impact many thought he might and saw his snaps significantly cut from Week 11 to Week 13 where he played less than 30% of the defensive snaps each week.

However, Deion Jones might have a great opportunity ahead of him over the final four games of the season and return as a starting linebacker. The Browns have seen two linebackers go on injured reserve in back-to-back weeks in Sione Takitaki and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah which opens the door for Deion Jones.

This creates the chance for Deion Jones to be the starting linebacker for the Browns over the final four games and essentially be a tryout to show he can still play at that level and earn another multi-year contract.
