Not long ago, the Tennessee Titans were 7-3 and not only in control of the AFC South, but they also had one eye on the No. 1 seed in the AFC — which would have been the second year in a row they landed that spot.

That feels like a dream now as they’ve dropped four games in a row to fall to 7-7. And with the Jaguars at 6-8 and playing well, that lead doesn’t feel safe at all.

They do still control their own destiny and have a possible win on the schedule next week with a home game against Houston. But the key will be how they close things out with Dallas and Jacksonville in Weeks 17 and 18.

There was a time when I questioned Dan Campbell and now it’s time to admit those questions were wrong. He’s suddenly got things rolling for the Detroit Lions who have three wins in a row and are now good on six of their past seven games.

They’ve completely turned things around from a 1-6 start and are now in the playoff hunt with a record of 7-7. Even those who liked what Campbell was building have to be surprised at how quickly things turned around this season.

Making them even scarier, in the long run, is the high draft pick they get from the Rams this offseason thanks to the Matthew Stafford trade. This team could be tough for a while.
