Buffalo Bills (11-3) at Chicago Bears (3-11)

Saturday, December 24, 1:00 PM ET

If nothing else, the Chicago Bears can hang their hats on a couple of things after their Week 15 loss.

  • Justin Fields has exactly 1,000 rushing yards this season. In the modern football era, that has not been done very often. In fact, he joined Lamar Jackson and Mike Vick as the only three quarterbacks to do that in NFL history.
  • As Fields progresses, the Bears continue to improve their positioning in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Fields keeps putting incredible stuff out there in terms of highlight-reel plays, so even going up against an opponent as tough as the Buffalo Bills, I will expect nothing less this week:

The Bills showed some resilience in an important battle on Saturday night against the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins led Buffalo 29-21 into the fourth quarter of this game before Buffalo was able to pull it out 32-29.

The Bills simply have one of the best weapons in the entire NFL in Josh Allen. Bears fans have to be watching Allen from afar and hoping that their franchise QB can get to that level of effectiveness one day, and perhaps he will.

Ultimately, this game is about more growth from Fields and the Bears and the Bills have to continue to win the games they’re supposed to win so they can get that no. 1 seed in the AFC away from the Kansas City Chiefs. Playing the AFC Championship game in Buffalo — if they can get there — would be massive over playing it in Kansas City.

As much as you’d love to see Fields and the Bears play spoiler here, I think the Bills should win this one handily.

Prediction: Bills win 30-23
