Houston Texans (1-12-1) at Tennessee Titans (7-7)

Saturday, December 24, 1:00 PM ET

If you were one of the people that had the Tennessee Titans as a fraudulent team back when they were 7-3, it looks like you were right. The Titans are losers of four straight games. They are watching the AFC South slip out of their hands on a week-to-week basis. They have not only lost four straight games but they have lost considerable ground to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the process, and just recently fired GM Jon Robinson.

Ryan Tannehill suffered a major injury scare this past week against the Chargers but shockingly was able to come back into the game and almost lead the Titans to a come-from-behind victory. I still think this team is well-coached and I still think they are going to be a tough out with how physical they are on both sides of the ball. The fact that this team isn’t throwing for 450 yards a week doesn’t mean they’re irrelevant here in December.

Thankfully for the Titans, they get a “gimme” here late in the season with a home matchup against the hapless Houston Texans. The Texans actually gave the Kansas City Chiefs a really good game this past week but did that suck all the energy out of them?

Are they going to be able to bounce back after such a strong effort vs. Kansas City and go on the road to beat the Tennessee Titans?

I simply don’t see that happening this week. As cold as I have been on the Titans, and as much as you want to say “any given Sunday”, I think the Titans need this game badly enough and they are well-coached enough that you’ll see them get to 8-7 and put a little more pressure on the upstart Jaguars.

Prediction: Titans win 22-13
