The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the NFL’s best teams in 2022. There’s no taking that away from them as they plowed through an early injury to Dak Prescott and managed to win 10 games before mid-December. That’s nothing to scoff at. But along with those 10 victories come bigger expectations on a week-to-week basis, and certain players (and coaches) on the Cowboys right now are not helping this team make as strong of a push to the 2022 NFL playoffs as they could be.

Fresh off of a loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars and a close call the week before against Houston, we need to take a look at some of the people responsible for the Cowboys’ faltering of late and who needs to get things turned around immediately so the team can finish the season strong and not limp into the playoffs.

Although the NFC East is seemingly out of the question with the Eagles already at 13-1, the Cowboys can slightly close the gap with a win in Week 16 and they need certain players and personnel to get back on track rather quickly.

As was pointed out by our good friend Randy Gurzi over at The Landry Hat, Dan Quinn has done a tremendous job of turning the Cowboys’ defense around on the macro level. Over the last couple of weeks, however, the AFC South has unfortunately been a bit of a kryptonite for his unit.

The Cowboys’ struggles with the Jaguars were at least reasonable, and even predictable, to a degree. Shameless plug for the weekly NFL picks and predictions, where we correctly called the Jaguars beating the Cowboys. Even though I predicted the Cowboys to lose in a shootout last weekend, the only reason that prediction even crossed my mind is because of the way this team struggled with the Houston Texans. The Dallas defense gave up 327 yards and 23 points to the Texans, needing a late touchdown drive from the offense to take home a victory in the first place.

Against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Cowboys blew a 27-10 lead and gave up a season-high 503 yards to Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars along with a season-high 311 passing yards and 40 points allowed.

Even with Gardner Minshew in line to start against the Cowboys for the Eagles this weekend, Quinn’s unit needs to get some things figured out and quickly.
