Before the 2022 NFL season begins we have certain expectations for specific teams based on previous performance, free agency, draft acquisitions, and other factors.

Here are 5 teams we had high expectations for that disappointed us in 2022.

NFL Team #5- Green Bay Packers

This is one of two teams to make this list that still has a chance at making the playoffs in 2022. The Green Bay Packers, while still in playoff contention heading into Week 16 have been a disappointment. We knew that going into 2022 the Packers’ offense may be a bit less explosive than in previous years with the departure of Davante Adams.

However the Packers’ defense was supposed to be elite, or top 5 at least, as they spent both of their first-round picks on defensive players from the Georgia Bulldogs. The Packers’ defense is ranked 15th and they are more known for their soft coverage led by defensive coordinator Joe Barry than anything else.

The hope was that quarterback Aaron Rodgers was possibly entering his last season and would end with a trip to the Super Bowl. It isn’t a guarantee that the Packers aren’t making the Super Bowl however the chances are slim. The Packers stand with a record of 6-8 with a 2-2 record within the division. The Minnesota Vikings taking the NFC North crown from the Packers after a three-year run is icing on the cake as we begin to see a shift within the division.

The hope is that Aaron Rodgers sticks around for another season and the Green Bay front office finds a new defensive coordinator.  Some more weapons for Rodgers would actually give them a better shot for 2023 while the rest of the teams on the list are almost falling into the hopeless category. But the Green Bay Packers have definitely not been playing like the team we expected to see in 2022.
