12. New York Giants

. . Previous: 11th. New York Giants. 12. team. 31

Luckily for the New York Giants, a record of 8-6-1 is good enough right now to get this team into the postseason. That tie is less of an annoyance and more like a half-win at this time of year, and that helps. The Giants need that half-win on their record because they’ve sputtered in the second half of the season. They’re still playing tough defense, Saquon Barkley is still running well, and they haven’t gone ice cold (yet), but things need to start turning around quickly for this team.

They just lost a heartbreaker on Christmas Eve to the Vikings but they should be able to get to nine wins at home next week against the Colts.

11. Miami Dolphins

team. 59. . . Previous: 9th. Miami Dolphins. 11

The Miami Dolphins continue to slide despite the fact that I think this team is going to be very relevant come playoff time. They simply have too many weapons offensively and defensively to not be a threat in the playoffs. But they’ve got to make sure they punch their ticket to the dance at this point.

Right now, Mike McDaniel’s Dolphins are free-falling. They’ve now dropped to 8-7 after losing four in a row, the latest of which a home loss to the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers. This team is so explosive offensively but Tua Tagovailoa made some back-breaking throws against Green Bay that were picked off, and those proved to be major difference-makers in the game.

Miami needs to get a win in Week 17 to make it hard for any other Wild Card hopeful to leapfrog them in this playoff chase.
