It certainly wasn’t a “Merry” Christmas for Denver Broncos fans as they watched their team get absolutely obliterated by the Los Angeles Rams to the tune of 51-14, a game that included a whopping three interceptions from Russell Wilson and a fourth from Brett Rypien which was returned for the Rams’ final touchdown.

The Broncos’ embarrassing season got even worse on Christmas Day. Even Patrick Starr had seen enough. The fact that Russell Wilson is playing as bad as he has been has Broncos fans dejected and longing for a future that no one can even picture at this point. What is this team going to do about his dropoff in play in 2022? Blame it on coaching?

That’s probably the direction things are headed right now, but wow. This team is a mess.

27. Atlanta Falcons

Well, at least for part of the season, the Atlanta Falcons had themselves a good run. There were some times there throughout the 2022 campaign that you felt like the Falcons might be able to make a little run in the weaker NFC South, but with four straight losses and a record of 5-10 after Week 16 action, it looks like those dreams are dashed.

The Falcons did show some nice progress this year under head coach Arthur Smith, who was able to have one of the NFL’s better offenses for a good stretch of the season with Marcus Mariota at QB. The Falcons’ front office should be encouraged for the future as they focus on finding a long-term answer at that position.
