Week 16 of the 2022 NFL season is in the books and teams are making their final push to the 2022 postseason. With 14 spots available, the intrigue is ramping up every single week and some of the races for spots took a major turn over Christmas weekend.

The Green Bay Packers, for one, have the second-longest winning streak right now in the NFC at three straight and are making their case for the seventh and final spot in that conference. In the AFC, the Jacksonville Jaguars have gone from near the bottom of the AFC South just a couple of months ago to now being in first place and leading that division with the recent collapse of the Titans.

Let’s waste no time and get to our NFL picks and predictions for Week 17 of the 2022 NFL season.

Dallas Cowboys (11-4) at Tennessee Titans (7-8)

Thursday, December 29, 8:15 PM ET

The way the NFL has gone this season, it’s difficult to know how to pick this game. Common logic would say that the Cowboys are the much better team, they are coming off of an emotional win against the Philadelphia Eagles, and they obviously still have a lot to play for. But could the Cowboys be in line for a letdown against a Titans team that has gone absolutely ice-cold in recent weeks?

The Titans looked like they were in cruise control in the AFC South, but instead of being in cruise control, they fell asleep at the wheel. They fell asleep at the wheel and the Jaguars came speeding on by this past weekend. With the Jaguars now in first place in the AFC South, the Titans are in desperation mode. I really don’t “think” the Titans are going to win this game but I could see them easily being the more desperate of the two squads right now.

With five straight losses and the division/playoffs on the line, I think we could see Mike Vrabel’s squad pull some kind of rabbit out of their hat.

Prediction: Titans win 24-23
