2022 NFL Power Rankings Week 18: Tom Brady clinches, Aaron Rodgers on the verge
By Randy Gurzi
26. Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders shockingly benched Derek Carr before this game and decided to go with Jarrett Stidham. Carr left the team saying he didn’t want to be a distraction, but that came across as him just being done with the team.
They nearly looked brilliant for the move as the Raiders went toe-to-toe with the San Francisco 49ers who have been on fire. They even forced overtime with a touchdown from Josh Jacobs but an interception allowed the Niners to hit a game-winning field goal.
Las Vegas is now 6-10 and will have a lot of questions to answer in the offseason.
25. Atlanta Falcons
While they’re just 6-10 overall, the Atlanta Falcons haven’t been terrible at home. Hosted the Arizona Cardinals this weekend, they were able to pull off a 20-19 with Desmond Ridder making his second start. That victory was their fifth at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where they’re now 5-3.
They do have one more game at home next season as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Atlanta will have nothing to play for although the Bucs don’t either. Their win over Carolina this weekend meant they’re the NFC South champs, but the Falcons could still be motivated to give them a loss in what could be Tom Brady’s final career game as the starter for Tampa Bay.
