NFL Matchup #1: Detroit Lions (8-8) @ Green Bay Packers (8-8)

Prediction: DET 31 – GB 20  (Sunday, 8:25 PM ET)

Another divisional title will come down to a Week 18 showdown. Dan Campbell and Matt LaFleur will meet in a Sunday night coach-off – a great way to end an eventful season. The victor will clinch the seventh seed with a Seahawks loss. It will be a long four quarters, forcing each team to bring their best to extend their season.

A rough start to the new campaign put a dark cloud over the Lions franchise. Losses against the Vikings, Seahawks, Cowboys, and Dolphins were tough – but they instilled character into a young team. A 15-9 win against the Packers shifted the season’s energy. Detroit won three consecutive games before losing to the Bills by a field goal. Campbell’s team continued to impress, adding victories to their win total. Jared Goff manages the offense perfectly – ranking fourth in passing touchdowns (29) and sixth in passing yards (4,214).

Watching the Packers work their way into playoff contention impressed a fanbase worried about their franchise. Aaron Rodgers’ leadership was questioned throughout the season, but his team is still eligible for the playoffs. No.12 is tied for seventh in passing touchdowns (25) and ranks twelfth in passing yards (3,490). His efficiency is essential to victory – making him an X-factor for Sunday Night’s matchup.

It’s been an eventful NFL season, and the playoffs will bring more excitement to fans and analysts at home. The competition will bring out the best in rivals fighting for the last spot in the conference standings. Unsuccessful franchises will be eliminated from playoff contention – making Week 18 a must-see.
