2023 NFL Mock Draft: Cowboys stock up offense, Panthers reach at QB
By Randy Gurzi
22. New York Giants: Jordan Addison, WR, USC
Brian Daboll deserves a lot of credit. He took a roster that looked very similar to the one Joe Judge had and won nine games and made it to the playoffs. He did so despite Daniel Jones only throwing 15 touchdowns and their top wide receivers ended up being Richie James and Darius Slayton. They also had a lot of catches from Saquon Barkley, but he had just 5.9 yards per reception.
It’s obvious at this point that Kenny Golladay was a bust of a signing and he’s likely gone in the offseason. The jury is still out on Wan’Dale Robinson who played just six games, but outside of that, there’s not much.
Enter Jordan Addison, who is one of the more explosive wideouts in this class. A former star at Pitt, Addison transferred to USC this year and played well for them. He didn’t have as big of numbers as we saw in 2021 but he still finished his career with 3,134 yards and 29 touchdowns on 219 receptions.
New York apparently wants to bring Jones back, which makes sense given how far down they will be in the draft, but they also won’t overpay. Jones is likely to sign a decent deal, especially a short-term one that would allow him to try and prove himself before going after another contract. Bringing in a deep threat like Addison will help him in that endeavor.
