30. Kansas City Chiefs: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State

The Kansas City Chiefs have an explosive offense even without Tyreek Hill and they finished the year on a strong note — scoring 31 in the lopsided win over the Las Vegas Raiders. In that one, they were leaning on the ground more with 168 yards and three touchdowns but that was due to the score being out of reach for Vegas.

As long as Patrick Mahomes is under center, this will be a pass-first team and that’s why they bring in more wide receiver talent. With Mecole Hardman becoming a free agent in 2023, the Chiefs could look to replace him with a rookie, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba could be a steal at this point.

Smith-Njigba is one of the best pure route runners in the class and was more productive than both Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave in 2021. However, he missed most of this season which is why he could end up sliding quite a bit in the draft. That could be even more likely since he’s not likely to test off the charts — he’s not the fastest wideout but just a sensational technician.

Mahomes will end up liking him quite a bit since he’s always going to be in the right spot and doesn’t drop the ball often.
