5. Pittsburgh Steelers
If you’ve been paying attention, there might have been something brewing between the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers for quite some time at this point. Although Rodgers obviously signed on with the Packers, he certainly did his part to add fuel to this flame in the past…
During this game, Rodgers and Tomlin shared a bit of a moment as the chess match played out with Rodgers trying to catch the Steelers with 12 guys on the field, and Tomlin being forced to take a timeout.
At this point, it’s difficult to argue against Tomlin being arguably the best coach in the entire NFL. He doesn’t have a losing season in umpteen years on the job. He’s been sensational for Pittsburgh, and he’s obviously (deservedly) well-respected around the league.
Aaron Rodgers going to Pittsburgh would be a ton of fun considering he’d have guys like Najee Harris, Diontae Johnson, George Pickens, and Pat Freiermuth to get the ball to. The Steelers have Kenny Pickett right now but how invested in him are they? At least, in comparison to the chance to get Rodgers…
Rodgers is no stranger to playing in the elements, especially late in the season. He clearly has a ton of respect for Mike Tomlin and could really help push the Steelers over the top. I think out of all the possible matches for Rodgers in the 2023 offseason, if anything even materializes, this one is arguably the best fit.
