Stud: Brock Purdy, QB

Brock Purdy has been a stud for the 49ers all year and even found a way to shake off a slow start and deliver a monumental performance.

Early in the game, Purdy had a shot to get a touchdown pass to Jauan Jennings but didn’t get the pass off in time. His hesitation meant the ball hung in the air long enough for Tariq Woolen to get there and break the play up.

Later in the first half, he then took an unnecessary deep shot when Deebo Samuel was wide open in the middle of the field — with a lot of room to run. The issues continued as he misfired on a pass again to Jennings with less than a minute to go in the first half, and Jennings was open for the big play. The Niners still got a field goal on that final drive of the half but they could have had a huge lead with just a couple of those plays going their way.

After the break, Purdy came out and was a completely different player. He scored on a quarterback sneak to cap off a 13-play, 75-yard drive that killed 7:45 seconds in the third quarter. He then hit Elijah Mitchell for a seven-yard touchdown after making his way through the progressions following a Seattle turnover.

That score made it 31-17 as Purdy was suddenly hitting the passes he missed earlier in the game. They were still in the game with the few misses early but once Purdy was clicking, they looked unbeatable.

Dud: Charvarious Ward, CB

As good as the 49ers played, Charvarious Ward had a few issues in this one. He struggled with coverage against DK Metcalf and saw Deommodore Lenoir take over against him for much of the second half.

Lenoir was picked on for much of the season but was the better player in this one and even had a fourth-quarter pick as Seattle was getting desperate.
