Predicting every NFL team’s head coach for 2023 season
Predicting AFC South head coaches in 2023
Jacksonville Jaguars: Doug Pederson
After what we have seen here in the 2022 season, there’s no question that Doug Pederson will be back as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars and he’ll get some consideration for the NFL Coach of the Year Award to go along with it.
Considering the fact that it doesn’t feel like it was too long ago we were laughing at the Jaguars for hiring Urban Meyer, and it wasn’t long after that it felt like they had completely botched their head coach search in 2022, it’s amazing how far we’ve come. The Jaguars have won a playoff game with Pederson at the helm. They have a shot to play spoiler in Kansas City in the Divisional round. Pederson deserves a ton of credit for the work he’s done.
Tennessee Titans: Mike Vrabel
Mike Vrabel is an outstanding coach, one of the best in the game. Despite an injury to Ryan Tannehill and struggles of rookie Malik Willis, Vrabel was able to have his team in the mix in the AFC South to the bitter end and nearly won the South with Josh Dobbs being signed out of nowhere to come in and start a couple of games for him.
Vrabel’s team is a reflection of who he is — tough, a little old-school, and very smart. He’s got the ability to win the chess match on a weekly basis. It’s no wonder the Titans chose him over GM Jon Robinson. We’ll see how much input Vrabel has with personnel when a new GM is brought in.
