1. Tom Brady, QB

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ season has come to a close and with it, the speculation surrounding the future of quarterback Tom Brady. Personal turmoil for Brady brought forth questions about a sluggish 2022 season. Things never looked up for the Bucs which lead to a disappointing 8-9 season. Like any team with a losing record, the Buccaneers are facing a difficult decision, however, they are the only team that had Tom Brady. The question is, how are they going to bring back the seven-time Super Bowl champion? They can’t.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, teammates of Brady believe he will not be returning to Tampa Bay. Brady’s comments at a press conference after the Buccaneers’ 31-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night further added fuel to the speculation.

The speculation surrounding Brady’s future is not without merit. The Buccaneers had a lackluster offensive line this season which greatly impacted the quarterback’s performance. Additionally, the team recently fired offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, who was a favorite of Brady’s.

Wait, there’s more. The Buccaneers are facing a difficult salary cap situation, which makes it unclear if they will be able to re-sign Brady. He’s old and looked old in 2022, so he’ll need a team that can protect him, the Bucs can’t.
