5 trades to shake up the 2023 NFL season

3. DeAndre Hopkins to the Jacksonville Jaguars
Following a disastrous 2022 campaign and the firing of Kliff Kingsbury, there are some big changes on the horizon for the Arizona Cardinals. One expected move is for them to send DeAndre Hopkins to a new home.
There will be no shortage of suitors for the disgruntled wideout, and several contending teams are expected to make a push for his services. Thanks to a great second half of the season, the Jacksonville Jaguars have put their names on the “contender” list and should be all-in on Hopkins.
Trevor Lawrence took a huge step forward under Doug Pederson and they even secured a win over the Los Angeles Chargers in the postseason. However, they need more firepower if they’re going to upend elite offenses such as the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jacksonville does have Calvin Ridley in the mix to go along with Christian Kirk but banking on Ridley who has played in just five games the past two seasons might not be wise. Instead, it would make sense to add Hopkins to start alongside Kirk, his former Arizona teammate, and anything Ridley gives would be a bonus.
The Jags are in a great spot as Lawrence is still on his rookie deal, so now’s the time to load up on talent and try to make a run. Hopkins helps them do just that.
