The Las Vegas Raiders face an interesting offseason in 2023. The plan is apparently to seek to trade quarterback Derek Carr or release him by February 15, 2023. The future of the Raiders is unknown at the quarterback position and most current players have been silent about their opinions.

Star defensive end Maxx Crosby appeared on the “Bussin with the Boys” podcast on January 20, 2023. Current Tennessee Titans offensive lineman and co-host of the podcast, Taylor Lewan, asked Crosby who he wants to be the quarterback of the Las Vegas Raiders. Crosby did not take long to answer.

“I would love to have Tom Brady.”

Crosby was quick to defend his position referencing that, “as a leader, as a player, as the GOAT (greatest of all time), f*** yeah.”

Raiders fan have detailed their concern with having a 46-year-old quarterback but Crosby does not have any fears. Crosby detailed his high amount of respect for Brady and his excitement if he had the opportunity to have Tom Brady as his quarterback.

Crosby stated he believes Brady still “has it”, as in the ability to play at a high level in the NFL. Crosby isn’t shy about revealing that he wants a ring and indicates Brady is key to fulfilling that desire.

Crosby stated that he does not mean for the comment to be taken as a controversial statement just his opinion. This isn’t surprising despite Crosby’s clear friendship with his former quarterback, Derek Carr. The rest of the NFL world, including Crosby, watched Brady go to Tampa Bay and win a championship his first year there. Crosby mentioned even after a down year statistically in 2022 Tom Brady performed well despite a lot of team injuries.

Maxx Crosby also referenced the need to have stability amongst the team as far as coaches go. Crosby displayed optimism in having defensive coordinator Patrick Graham return as well as head coach Josh McDaniels having a second season in Las Vegas.

Perhaps Crosby will get his wish and the “GOAT” will suit up in Silver and Black this offseason.
