4. Noah Brown, Wide Receiver

There were reports surfaced on Monday that the Chargers are ready to move on from a couple of high-priced vets. Two of the names listed were Keenan Allen and Gerald Everett.

Everett was added this season after he spent one year in Seattle and four with the Los Angeles Rams. He was a solid addition and had 58 receptions for 555 yards and four touchdowns. As for Allen, he’s been with the Chargers for 10 years and has been one of their most consistent offensive weapons.

Despite the success he’s had, Allen has dealt with several injuries throughout his career and is now on the wrong side of 30.

But the main reason both are on the chopping block is their salary. With just those two moves, the Chargers can free up more than $19 million.

There will still be work to do in order to get under the cap and they can still add some high-priced free agents if they want to — as long as they get creative with restructures.

Of course, in order to round their roster out, they’re going to need to find some bargains and that’s what they would get with Noah Brown.

A former seventh-round pick from Ohio State, Brown spent the past five years with the Cowboys and had his best campaign in 2022. Brown had career highs in receptions (43), yardage (555), and touchdowns (3) while filling in as the No. 2 wideout for much of the season.

Dallas is expected to look for an upgrade this offseason and with Michael Gallup expected to be healthy, that leaves the door open for Brown to leave. Following Moore would be a wise move since he’s spent the majority of his career with the play-caller.
