3. Cooper Rush, Quarterback

Over the course of the past two seasons, the Cowboys have had to hand the ball over to Cooper Rush twice — and each time he delivered.

First, it was a simple one-game stint as a calf injury kept Dak Prescott out against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8. Rush was calm and collected as he threw for 325 yards with two touchdowns — including a game-winner to Amari Cooper.

This season, he was again handed the reins when Prescott suffered a thumb injury that required surgery. That meant Rush would be under center for the next five weeks and he continued to play well.

Rush threw for 1,051 yards with five touchdowns and three picks, although those three picks all came in the same game. That also happened to be the only loss he had as Dallas fell to the Eagles 26-17, but Rush still led them to a 4-1 record.

Now heading into the offseason, Rush could be looking for a new home and Kellen Moore would surely love to bring him to Los Angeles.

The Chargers did have Chase Daniel but he’s also a free agent and they might feel more comfortable with someone who has spent several years working with their new offensive coordinator as the No. 2 quarterback.
