Chicago Bears: 5 Draft targets who improved their stock in Senior Bowl
Julius Brents, CB, Kansas State
Poles did a good job of rebuilding the Chicago Bears’ secondary. He used both of his second-round picks in that area, drafting safety Jaquan Brisker and cornerback Kyler Gordon.
After a slow start to the season, Gordon picked it up and finished the season strong. He and Jaylon Johnson could make a nice duo.
The Bears may need a little more, however. Picking up another good cornerback could turn their cornerbacks into an elite unit.
Julius Brents had a great week. He showed how disruptive his length could be. At 6-foot-4, he could affect routes and outjump receivers for the ball.
Brents did not just show his size last week. He also showed that he had patient feet and eye discipline. All week, he made receivers work hard on every play when he covered them.
Brents showed he is a big, athletic cornerback who could make plays on the ball.
With his size and athleticism, Brents offers good run support. He has the body to be physical and help a Chicago Bears defense that ranked last in rushing touchdowns allowed and 31st in rushing yards.
Brents could be a great addition to the Bears’ secondary. He is the type of athletic, tough player with a high motor that Poles desires.
