2023 NFL free agency: Predicting where top 50 players will land
21. Marcus Davenport, EDGE, New Orleans Saints
Marcus Davenport is a former first-round pick of the New Orleans Saints, and the team is simply not likely to be able to afford to bring him back for the 2023 season. Davenport is coming off of a down year and the Saints are working to make a major upgrade at the quarterback position. Sacrifices are going to be made.
Luckily for Davenport, he’s got friends with the Atlanta Falcons. Former Saints executive Terry Fontenot is the Falcons’ GM, and the Falcons’ new defensive coordinator is former Saints assistant Ryan Nielsen. Davenport should get a prove-it deal with Atlanta to show that his tremendous talent is still there.
Prediction: Signs with Atlanta Falcons
22. Jordan Poyer, S, Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are likely going to try to keep the band together as long as possible, and Jordan Poyer is someone that defense relies on heavily. Even though he only played in 12 games last year, he still ended up with four interceptions and his first Pro Bowl nod.
Poyer will be 32 next season, so sticking around with the Buffalo Bills on a 1-2 year deal seems like a wise move for both the team and player.
Prediction: Re-signs with Bills
