2023 NFL free agency: Predicting where top 50 players will land
15. Mike McGlinchey, OT, San Francisco 49ers
Everyone wants a piece of the 49ers and Mike McGlinchey could give some team that in the 2023 NFL Free Agent frenzy. McGlinchey was once a first-round pick out of Notre Dame who has developed into a solid player when healthy for the 49ers.
Given some of his injury issues, you can’t help but think the 49ers might be okay letting him walk this offseason. He is coming off of a season in which he played all 17 games, so his value is certainly rehabbed after missing nine in 2021.
As will be a theme in this post, the Chicago Bears have a desperate need for OL help, and a ton of cap space to spend.
Prediction: Signs with Chicago Bears
16. Dre’Mont Jones, DL, Denver Broncos
I remain on the fence with Dre’Mont Jones and the Denver Broncos. I think if the Broncos can keep continuity defensively, this could become one of the best overall units in the league. And by continuity defensively, I mean keep Ejiro Evero in the defensive coordinator seat for one more year.
Dre’Mont Jones is a no-bull personality and doesn’t sound like he’s taking any sort of discount to stay with the Broncos and ride it out while the team tries to regain relevance. I think if he’s not tagged, he would be one of the most coveted players on the open market. The Broncos might be backed into the franchise tag corner here.
Prediction: Re-signs with Broncos (or tagged)
