Three breakout teams to monitor for the 2023 NFL season?

Denver Broncos

I think the Denver Broncos are an obvious choice to break out in 2023.  A couple of things happened to them in 2022 that surely should not happen again in 2023.

Firstly, they were the most injured team in football by a mile.  What are the odds that they are again?  They are poised to bring in a new strength and conditioning coach, so maybe that’ll help.  Secondly, they suffered from historically bad coaching with Nathaniel Hackett and some of his staff.

Now that Sean Payton is in the mix, and given his success as a head coach, I think Denver will greatly benefit from his expertise, be a better-coached team and be able to play complimentary football again.

You also have to consider Payton’s work with veteran QBs in the past.  Who is to say he can’t do it again with an uber-talented player like Russell Wilson?

I think many people who are still low on the Broncos are overthinking this.  They have avenues to create cap space, a Super Bowl-winning head coach, and a formerly elite QB.  They’ll bounce back in a big way in 2023.
