Scouting Report. Georgia. Warren McClendon. player. Pick Analysis. OL. 79. 814

The one prevailing thought about what the Chicago Bears will do this offseason is Poles going after veteran offensive linemen via free agency. The Bears already have a load of young linemen who are developing.

However, having more quality players is always a good thing. Adding a player like Warren McClendon, who is used to winning titles, helps change the culture at Halas Hall.

McClendon is a three-year starter and back-to-back champion. He measures 6-foot-4 and weighs 300 pounds.

McClendon projects as a very good backup at the start of his career. He could be a good swing tackle. He even has the ability to play the three positions on the line. Also, he has a high motor and plays hard every time he is on the field.

McClendon has a high football IQ and always knows where he should be. He has good feet and keeps the pass rusher in front of him. He is able to get to the second level and knock out linebackers. Furthermore, he has good hands and uses a good punch to stun the defender (although he sometimes tends to use two hands to punch which can lead to him being out of position). He does a good job of anchoring and reinforcing the pocket.

Poles wants to overhaul the offensive line. Having McClendon on the roster helps improve the unit.
