It takes a few moves to turn a team into a Super Bowl. The Washington Commanders is a team that can make that jump—Eric Bieniemy makes that a reality.

Trying to climb to the No. 1 spot is tough, especially for a team in turmoil. However, the Washington Commanders are a few movies away from taking the NFC East and competing for a Super Bowl. Ron Rivera is the man at the top. Sure, he’s on a bit of a hot seat, and there’s the issue of the franchise being sold. Still, the future is now for Rivera, who knows what it’s like to coach a team to the Super Bowl? Now he has a guy on his staff who won a few titles in Eric Bieniemy.

Like Rivers, Bieniemy is known as a leader of men who will get the best out of his roster. Fortunately, for the long-time Chiefs coordinator, he joined a team with one of the most talented rosters in the NFL, especially on offense. Bieniemy has a background as a running back coach, now he has a dynamic backfield. Brian Robinson is a powerful downhill runner that will benefit from Bieniemy’s playcalling. So will the all-purpose Antonio Gibson who is more like a running back Bieniemy coached in the past, Kareem Hunt.

What makes the Commanders a danger is the wide receivers. Terry McLaurin proved it doesn’t matter who’s throwing him the ball. On the other side, Jahan Dotson showed he’s a promising young star. And Curtis Samuel is the No. 3 who could be the No. 2 wideout on a lot of teams, but there are also the injuries. Bieniemy will get the best of out of those guys with pre-snap motions, quick screen, and downfield plays.

Let’s look on the defensive side of the ball, where defensive tackles Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne strike fear in the hearts of offensive linemen. Chase Young should be returning and vying for comeback player of the year. Montez Sweat proved once again he’s a solid edge rusher.

5. Eric Bieniemy should bring Micole Hardman with him to the Washington Commanders

Sure, Mecole Hardman hasn’t lived up to the guy that was supposed to replace Tyreek Hill. However, a change in scenery and reuniting with his offensive coordinator should happen. What is Eric Bieniemy known for? Spreading the field and creating mismatches with his receivers, and Hardman is a perfect fit for that strategy. With his elite speed and agility, he can create separation from defenders on a variety of routes, from deep posts to quick slants.

Speed isn’t Hardman’s only asset. He’s shown the ability to make plays on quick passes and screens as well, and with his speed and agility, he can turn those into big gains. This makes him a potentially valuable weapon in the Commander’s offense,

Hardman has the IQ needed to help other wideouts acclimate to Bieniemy’s offense, given his emphasis on the pre-snap motion. He’ll know where to be and when. If everything goes well, Bieniemy can and will use him on jet sweeps, and other gadget plays that take advantage of his speed and agility. With Curtis Samuel’s injuries, bringing in Hardman would give them a fantastic wide receiver room.
