Minnesota Vikings: Justin Jefferson becomes filthy rich

Kirk Cousins is likely to get another extension to keep him with the Minnesota Vikings but what will really make headlines will be the contract they sign Justin Jefferson to.

Entering his fourth NFL season, Jefferson has one more year on his rookie deal — plus a pending fifth-year option. But after he had 128 receptions for 1,809 yards following a 108 reception and 1,616-yard performance in 2021, he’s likely to ask for an extension now that he’s eligible.

Jefferson has already proven he’s one of the best in the game and that’s what his contract will suggest. Tyreek Hill just got $30 million per season, so look for Jefferson to top this with a four-year extension in the $32 million per year average — which would be $128 million.

Detroit Lions: Sign Darius Slayton

With Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, the Detroit Lions have two talented options at wide receiver but that doesn’t mean they won’t look for more this offseason. They’re not going to be breaking the bank but they would do well to add someone that can take advantage of the attention paid to St. Brown and Williams — assuming Williams is back to 100 percent in 2023.

One option is Darius Slayton who is coming off his third season with at least 700 yards. The Giants would love to bring him back but with contracts up for Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones, Slayton could fall through the cracks and Detroit would be an excellent landing spot.
