San Francisco 49ers: Stay healthy under center, for once

No team in the NFL has been dealt a worse hand when it comes to injuries at quarterback than the San Francisco 49ers. Somehow they continue to find success despite the injuries, even making it to the NFC Championship Game with Brock Purdy.

Purdy was injured during that game and Josh Johnson was unable to lead them to a win. But looking forward to 2023, they hope to have Trey Lance back after he suffered a torn ACL in Week 1. Purdy might not be ready after his elbow injury but this prediction is that it won’t matter.

Lance not only starts in Week 1 but he finally breaks the curse and plays in all 16 games for the Niners. If that does come true, they should be the favorites in the NFC. They’re always there even when having to shuffle the deck but not focusing on adapting to a new quarterback will allow Kyle Shanahan to finally get his team over the hump.

Seattle Seahawks: Lock up Geno Smith for three-years

It’s hard to find a trade in the NFL where a superstar was shipped off and the team giving him up wound up being the major winner. That’s what happened when the Seattle Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to Denver.

Not only did Wilson stink it up while Seattle got a boatload of picks, but they also had better play from Geno Smith than they did Wilson. Smith uses this to his advantage as he scores a big contract, keeping him under center for the next three seasons in Seattle.
