Way too early NFL predictions for every team in 2023

New England Patriots: Turn to Bailey Zappe full-time
There’s no shortage of rumors surrounding Mac Jones right now. The former Alabama starter had a strong rookie campaign with the New England Patriots but took a step back in 2022. Now, there are expectations that he could be on the trading block, with the Raiders being named as one potential landing spot.
Whether he lands with Josh McDaniels or elsewhere, it seems Jones is on the outs with Bill Belichick. That’s why it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bailey Zappe starting for New England with the 2023 campaign kicks off.
Zappe was 2-0 as a rookie with 781 yards and a 5-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He won’t be an elite player but he does enough to win in New England.
New York Jets: Derek Carr joins, leads them to 12 wins
Derek Carr is finally free to find his new home and started out by meeting with the New York Jets. New York as also been linked to Aaron Rodgers but the smarter move would be to add Carr.
This isn’t to say Carr is the better player, because he’s not. He is, however, much more likable. And if you’re bringing a new quarterback into an established team, he better be able to win people over.
Carr can do this and if they were winning with Zach Wilson and Mike White, the Jets are good enough to win with Carr. That’s why this prediction is that Carr returns to the form we saw a few years ago and leads the Jets to 12 wins this season. And unlike Rodgers, he can come back for a few more years after that as well and continue to play well.
