On Monday, the Washington Commanders released quarterback Carson Wentz. Wentz joined the team last offseason after, a rough year with the Indianapolis Colts. Things didn’t work out in D.C. either, though. Following another tumultuous year for the QB, it made sense for the team to cut ties with him and save $26 million.

While Wentz has struggled the last few seasons, there should still be a strong market for him. The quarterback is no longer tied to a massive payday, so teams might be inclined to give him a chance on a cheap deal.

There are quite a few franchises that could use a veteran quarterback. If we’re being honest, Wentz’s days of being brought in as the potential QB of the future are likely over. However, he could get a deal as a stop-gap or a backup to a young quarterback.

What teams would potentially be interested, though? There are so many different factors that go into it all. First, they’ll be thinking about what QBs they already have. Then there are their plans for the position in the immediate future. Do they believe they could get a top name in free agency or via trade? Or are they looking to draft someone?

Money might be an issue for some, but it’s hard to imagine Wentz will command much money. With that in mind, it’s hard to see crossing off a team simply because of the money.

Let’s look at all the potential suitors for Carson Wentz, remembering all those factors, and put them in tiers from least to most likely landing spots.
