Not impossible, but unlikely to go after Carson Wentz

This section could also be named “teams that need something to happen to consider Carson Wentz”.

First, we have the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kenny Pickett is their quarterback, no one is going to argue with that. But they could be looking for a new backup. Currently, the Steelers have Mitchell Trubisky on the payroll. He’s a prime candidate to get cut, though. So why not replace Trubisky with another veteran who just got released?

This one is tough because Trubisky needs to be cut first. And Wentz would go in knowing he would be the backup, and he might want to go somewhere that gives him a chance to start. If he’s okay with it though, Wentz is a great locker-room guy who would want to help Pickett learn and grow as a young quarterback.

Next up are the Baltimore Ravens. This one banks on what the team is doing with Lamar Jackson. If they keep him (which should be a no-brainer, pay the man already), Wentz doesn’t have a spot on this roster. On the off-chance that the Ravens are dumb enough to let Jackson go, they’ll likely want to find a veteran QB for their roster. Wentz could come in and fight for a starting role, or be a solid backup for Tyler Huntley.

The last team on this list is the Green Bay Packers. Again, this depends on what the current star QB does. If Aaron Rodgers stays, Carson Wentz won’t be in Green Bay. However, if Rodgers leaves town the Packers might want to bring in a veteran. Jordan Love will likely get first dibs on the starting gig. It would be unwise not to have a veteran QB on the roster just in case, though.
