On Thursday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers apparently chatted with the Green Bay Packers regarding the availability of Aaron Rodgers.

This would certainly be a big move.  The Panthers and Packers chatted on Thursday afternoon about Rodgers, the four-time MVP.  Rodgers just recently exited his darkness retreat and apparently will be making a decision soon regarding his future in the NFL.

No matter what he decides, the vibe that I get tells me that the Packers want to move off of Aaron Rodgers and give Jordan Love a chance.

So, to me, Rodgers’ two options are to either retire or play for another team.  Could that other team be in the NFC?

Well, I’m not sure that Green Bay would ship Rodgers to Carolina, but I do love the fit, even if it’s for a year or two.

The Carolina Panthers have made some stellar coaching staff moves this offseason; they kicked that off when they hired Frank Reich, who proceeded to hire a plethora of quality coaches to hopefully energize this talented roster.

The Panthers have a solid offensive line, an excellent defensive front, and some promising young pieces on offense and in the secondary.  To me, they are the early favorites to win the NFC South, which would guarantee a top-four seed and a guarantee them a home playoff game.

Seeing as Frank Reich had to deal with the countless QB retreads when he was the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, I’d think that he’d prefer the team to draft a QB in April, but potentially passing up Aaron Rodgers would be some decision.

The Carolina Panthers will indeed be making a significant QB move this offseason, and while I do not think they ultimately trade for Rodgers, the inquiry is interesting.

Panthers’ owner David Tepper is an aggressive executive, so perhaps they do make a move for the future Hall of Famer.
