The 2023 NFL offseason is coming, promising to reshape franchises with cutthroat decisions, trades, and free agency moves

Get ready, football fans! The 2023 NFL offseason promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with moves that will reshape franchises and send shockwaves through the league. Teams will have to make some tough, cutthroat decisions, from trading away impact players for draft picks to cutting players in a bad cap year. But not every team is in the same boat. Take the Chicago Bears, for example. They’ve got loads of cap space, but they’re facing a different kind of decision: who to take with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. And that’s just the beginning.

We’ve already seen some players like Derek Carr make cutthroat decisions by forcing the Los Angeles Raiders to cut him. He’s just one of many players who’ll find themselves in the free agency pool. Meanwhile, we can expect some trades that will reshape the NFL. It’s all part of the game, as teams strive to get better and compete for the top prize. So buckle up and get ready for a wild ride in the 2023 NFL offseason as we look to see some teams make cutthroat moves.

10. Kansas City Chiefs cut Frank Clark

This may sound crazy, but yes Frank Clark should get cut. Clark has been in talks as a potential NFL salary cap casualty for the past few years, an average 2022 season, those talks have only intensified. With just five sacks in 15 games, the Chiefs may be ready to move on from the veteran pass rusher and save a whopping $21 million against the cap by designating him a post-June 1 cut.

But fear not Chiefs fans, because the team has a rising star waiting in the wings in George Karlaftis III. The young edge rusher has already proven himself as a force to be reckoned with on the field, and the Chiefs could potentially use the money saved from Clark’s departure to bolster their defense even further.

With the No. 32 pick, the Chiefs can replace Clark with a rookie edge rusher like Derick Hall, a defensive lineman out of Auburn, or Georgia Tech’s Keion White. Hall is explosive and long, a power rusher with a rugged demeanor. In the case of White, he’s raw but offers power and freakish athleticism.

So while it may be a cutthroat decision to let go of a veteran like Frank Clark, the math is mathing, and the Chiefs could potentially make a smart move by investing in their future with a young edge rusher.
