3. Trade up for Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU

The Kansas City Chiefs currently have a whopping 11 selections in the 2023 NFL Draft, including the 31st overall pick. For those wondering why it’s not the 32nd overall pick, it’s because the Miami Dolphins had to forfeit a first-round selection, bumping everyone behind them up one slot.

The Chiefs could make a bold move up the NFL Draft board to secure arguably the top receiver in this year’s draft class — TCU’s Quentin Johnston. Johnston is a big-bodied receiver at 6-foot-3, 208 pounds who just flat-out has a ridiculous catch radius.

His arm length is nearly 34 inches. He has a 40.5-inch vertical jump and an 11’2″ broad jump. When you look at his ability to go up and win contested catch situations, it pales in comparison only to the ability this guy has after the catch.

You can get the ball out quickly to him, and he’s not stiff in his movements. He’s very natural in the open field and he’s got the playmaker gene. It just feels like this guy in Andy Reid’s offense, catching passes from Patrick Mahomes…

Now that’s five years of a marriage in this year’s draft class that you don’t want to see if you’re the 31 other NFL teams.

The Chiefs have a lot of different ways right now that they can still look to upgrade their wide receiver position. They may only need one or two guys to really make it an exciting crew on top of what it already is. You’re expecting development from Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore. You know what you’re getting in Valdes-Scantling. Beyond that, though, the Chiefs have chances to add playmakers and any one of these three moves would be home run types of swings.
